Creating employment and enhancing communities by delivering commercially focused and innovative solutions to significant and complex resource projects
South Australia’s Resources Infrastructure and Investment Task Force delivers innovative solutions to major project challenges to assist the state’s resources sector to realise its economic potential.
The Task Force leads the government responses to complex, urgent resource projects and infrastructure, while ensuring that benefits derived from projects flow to regional communities.
- The transformation of the Port Pirie smelter
- The transformation of Whyalla Steelworks
- Expansion of the Olympic Dam copper, gold and uranium mine at Roxby Downs
- Lease termination of the Mintabie Township
The Task Force also works with the mining and minerals processing industries, infrastructure providers and across federal, state and local government to identify and plan for rail, ports, roads, power and water infrastructure investment necessary to support our state’s resources sector.
As the emerging global commodities upswing gathers momentum, the Task Force aims to leverage opportunities to support the transformation of minerals processing facilities into modern businesses that have an international outlook.
