Delivering data via the new South Australian Drilling Atlas.

Field data from the Geological Survey of South Australia (GSSA) and MinEx CRC National Drilling Initiative (NDI) in the Delamerian Orogen is being released on the freshly launched South Australian Drilling Atlas. Drilling is nearing completion in the Alawoona area of the project, with exciting results to date presented at the recent GSSA Discovery Day, including evidence for multiple styles of mineralising systems.

Also available through the Drilling Atlas are results from the advanced field trials of the MinEx CRC coiled tubing drill rig, enabling comparison with holes drilled with conventional technology (mud rotary/diamond drilling).

Field data available for the first series of holes completed includes preliminary lithological and stratigraphic logs, core and chip photography, petrophysical data (gamma and magnetic susceptibility) and portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) data. Results from the ongoing program will be added progressively to the platform.

The Drilling Atlas is interactive, enabling viewers to visualise field logs against multiple data types, view logs downhole in 3D, as well as interrogate pXRF data and investigate elemental and lithological relationships.
