Mining operation

The Penrice mine produces raw stone for cement manufacture, aggregates, chemical grade limestone and production material for foundry flux, glass and paver manufacture.  900,000 tonnes of material was produced from the site in 2016, and the remaining resource is currently under assessment following a drilling program in 2016.  A MOP/PEPR update is due for the site in 2018.

It is estimated that 75.8 Mt in situ marble (of all grades) and 11.6 Mt waste will be produced from the pit. For more information on production material, visit Adelaide Brighton Cement Ltd

Penrice Quarry, Angaston currently consists of 5 active mining tenements - ML 6233, PM 86, PM 120, MPL 118, and MPL 75.
