SA Power Networks (SAPN) distributes electricity to homes and businesses across the state through a network of poles and wires. It is committed to delivering safe, reliable and efficient electricity services.
Nominated project: Reset stakeholder engagement
Premier's Award category: Community (Energy)
Delivering a safe, reliable and affordable energy supply for all South Australians requires wide and deep collaboration to understand and meet evolving customer needs through:
- ongoing engagement with stakeholders in a business as usual (BAU) framework
- detailed engagement on a regulatory “reset” proposal every five years – establishing the levels of service customers desire and the operating and capital expenditure that SA Power Networks requires to manage and maintain the state-wide distribution network for the next five-year regulatory period.
The BAU framework has been completely redesigned, a new Community Advisory Board (CAB) established along with supporting reference groups. The stakeholder engagement for the 2025-30 Regulatory Proposal (“Reset”) was co-designed with the CAB to ensure the voices of all customers are heard and considered.
The Reset engagement approach is industry-leading, and meeting widespread approval from stakeholders. It will culminate with a People’s Panel in 2023.
