The AGL SA Smart Charging Trial installed 18 smart EV chargers in Wilson Parking Adelaide CBD off street carparks. As part of an all-inclusive EV lease and smart charging commercial fleet business model, a further 4 chargers were installed at commercial fleet employee’s homes and up to 6 smart chargers at commercial fleet business premises, including Centacare and Uniting Communities, to support 6 electric fleet vehicles.
Using various supporting systems trial data was collected to understand the charging behaviour of commercial fleet drivers. The trial then introduced charger control and dynamic factors including price and event signals designed to alter user charging behaviour.
The understanding gained will enable development of new viable commercial propositions that will increase adoption of EVs and smart charging practices in South Australia.
