Resources project: Career Transition Service - Whyalla
The Career Transition Service - Whyalla was established by RESA in collaboration with Whyalla City Council and Local Jobs Program - North West Country, in October 2024 to support workers impacted by labour market adjustment and transition, particularly those impacted by redundancy. RESA identified the need for a single point of entry to connect the Whyalla community with the range of services available to support them.
The career transition service provided an avenue to fast track skilled workers into alternative employment, provide recognition of skills and training and development to access alternative employment. With support from the South Australian government, in January 2025, RESA established a collaboration agreement with Regional Development Australia - Eyre Peninsula to increase the service from 3 to 5 days per week until 30 June 2025.
