Elise is a passionate and people-focused Senior Engineer/Metallurgist at BHP Olympic Dam (OD). She is currently leading two of OD’s most important projects – a pilot plant to solve a dendritic copper issue that's persisted in the Electrowinning plant for over 15 years, and implementation of OD’s first AI/Digital model for the solvent extraction circuit, which is changing how operations are managed and decisions are made.

In an industry where technical outcomes often dominate, Elise brings a bold and refreshing approach that centres on empathy and psychological safety. She is a vocal advocate for cultivating a “culture of care”, believing that when people feel safe, supported, and valued, the best ideas emerge, and innovation thrives. This conviction is grounded in her own experiences navigating environments where people leadership was undervalued, and it fuels her commitment to doing things differently.
