Core Workshop - May 2026
A core workshop was held at the South Australia Drill Core Library on 22 May 2026 featuring examples of core from all basins producing oil and gas in South Australia – that is, the Warburton, Cooper, Eromanga and Otway basins.
Workshop Report Book
This report contains a summary of each basin and well cores featured. This report also demonstrates the benefit of core data for analysing oil and gas reservoir characteristics. Legacy core can often be overlooked, so for this workshop all cores were reviewed with new eyes to understand how depositional facies may have impacted reservoir production. This included preparing new core descriptions where necessary.
