The Office of the Technical Regulator has released strong advice against the use of a gas hose that is designed to be used with cookers fitted into the drawers of utes, four-wheel-drives and similar vehicles.
Using the gas hose can result in risk or injury from gas leakage and ignition.
The 135cm stainless-steel braided hose (see figure above) has diagonal yellow stripes, a ‘male’ bayonet connection at one end and either a Type 27 (LCC27) or Type 21 (POL) cylinder connection at the other end.
Owners of vehicle drawer cookers are encouraged to check the gas hose in their drawer system. If it’s a 135cm stainless-steel braided hose, stop using it immediately and contact the retailer or installer to discuss your options.
For further information, you can read the gas hose public warning notice or visit www.otr.sa.gov.au.
